Conspiracy Fact

My friend Doug Jones recently wrote in Credenda/Agenda, the magazine which he serves as managing editor, ther there simply can't be any great conspiracies. He suggests that human nature would not allow such a thing, that being little sinners men cannot keep such grand secrets, and being selfish cannot work so well together and be patient for the glory to come. I think he's wrong. I would suggest that there is in this world today an organization with the might and authority to rule the world. Credible historians, some whose names you would not only recognize, but revere, claim that this organization took a world mired in chaos and gave it order. This organzization has already been established a single world wide government , though few seem to recognize it. The organization is concerned with controlling your life, with shaping not only your behavior, but your thoughts and emotions. It seeks abosolute devotion and total obedience to its every dictate. It also wants your children. It wants to tell you how and what they should be taught, how they should be punished, even how they should worship (promoting one world religion). It seeks a generation of youth to be molded into its image. It insists that you obey; its punishment for failure is certain and severe.

Such an organization exists, and it is not in hiding. Its plans to accomplish these goals are secret, though we see more of them as time passes. Those plans, by the way, are old, eons old. When the UN was formed, they were there, using it for their purposes. When the League of Nations was formed, they were there. At the framing of the Constitution and the signing of the Declaration, they were there. In fact, this organization manipulated these events perfectly to bring to pass their plan. They were there for the Magna Carta, for the creation of the Holy Roman Empire. They were inside the Vatican, and in the Senate of Rome. They worked their plan even as far back as the building of Babel's tower. The name of this organization? Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Scared you didn't I? Good, be afraid. You see, this organization is far, far more ter6ifying than the UN, the freemasons, the illuminati, the CFR or any other organization. When I get frightened by growing governments and their intrusions into my life, I need to remember Whom I should fear. The evil state which rules over us is nothing but, a puppet government. We especially, who suffer under something resembling democracy, should know the truth that we get the government we deserve.

God uses runaway states for His purposes. In His providence He often serves two legitimate functions this way. First He punishes the wicked. Though many states practice injustice, none who have suffered that injustice have received worse than what is due them from God. That is that while the wicked may lay a charge against the state for its wickedness, they may not grumble to God. Yes He ordains it, wills it and could stop it if He desired. But He is not obligated to stop it, for all the wicked suffer is grace compared to what they are due. Second, He purifies His church. Rapacious governments work well to burn the chaff out of the church. You can rest assured that nominal Christianity isn't a huge problem in Communist China. In giving us an unjust state He is doing good by us, for He promises that all things work together for good for those called according to His purpose.

Such doesn't mean, of course, that we should drop our prophetic ministry, and cheer on a state run amuck. That's the mystery of His providence. He works His providence, His secret will, often through things that work against His revealed will, things His revealed will says we are to denounce. But it does mean that we are not to despair. We are not to jump to the conclusion that God is sleeping through our suffering. He is working through it. Thus it would be utterly appropriate to thank God for Leviathan, and to implore Him to make it stop, all the while affirming, "Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done."

In like manner we shouldn't despair because His plan works not only for the immediate benefit of His people, but for the ultimate end, the consummation of His Kingdom. Just as with everything, the progress of history, the rise and fall of tyrants, serve the ultimate and penultimate goals: His glory, and the well-being of His people. His providence is not some kind of holding pattern, but moves His story ever forward to His climax, the fullness of His kingdom. Both Nero, the insane fiddler who burned Rome, and any womanizing president work together in the progression of that plan. The call is not to shed all fear, but to fear rightly, as God told Isaiah, "Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy. Do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, He is the one you are to fear, He is the one you are to dread, and He will be a sanctuary." Isaiah responded rightly, "Here I am, and the children the Lord has given me."
